Story

The story of Skylanders Imaginators takes place long ago when the Ancients used a mysterious power known as "Mind Magic" to create everything in Skylands. With it, they conjured into existence anything that they could imagine! However, they soon learned that in the wrong hands, it could be very dangerous, and so they sealed it away so that it could never be misused. After discovering this ancient secret, Kaos has unleashed the power of "Mind Magic" into Skylands once again - and he is using it to create an unstoppable army of Doomlanders, the likes of which have never been seen! Now it's up to Portal Masters to create Skylanders Imaginators from their own imagination and stop Kaos and his evil Doomlanders before it is too late. And to help train them, Eon is sending the greatest mystic warriors of all time - the Senseis!

Characters

For new playable characters there are 20 brand new Skylander Senseis as well as 11 former villains. Along with their element each Sensei will also have a Battle Class from a list of ten: Smasher, Knight, Ninja, Bazooker, Quickshot, Sorcerer, Brawler, Sentinel, Swashbuckler, and Bowslinger.

The first set of characters to be revealed included King Pen, Golden Queen, and Tri-Tip. Here is a table containing all of the new Skylanders, click the + to see all the known variants:

Senseis

"Sensei" is the collective name for the new set of Skylanders (the villains also function as Senseis), their Battle Class determines the types of attacks and weapons they use as well as which abilities they unlock for your Imaginators. They all have a new type of super attack called Sky-Chi that slowly fills up as you defeat enemies until it reaches a point where you can unleash it on your unsuspecting foes (quite similar to the ability Trap Masters had in the 3DS version of Trap Team).

Owning a Sensei of a particular battle class will unlock a Secret Technique for your Imaginators of the same class. As well as that they will each unlock an item and a weapon for use in customisation. Senseis will also be able to access areas known as "Sensei Elemental Realms".

Creation Crystal

Included in the Starter Pack is a Fire Creation Crystal, this allows you to create and store your very own custom Fire element Skylander. To create a Skylander of a different element you'll need to purchase a Creation Crystal of that element.

Be aware that once you select a Battle Class you can not change it on that Creation Crystal ever again. So choose carefully!

Starter Pack

In the Starter Pack you get the Water Sensei Master King Pen, the Earth Villain Golden Queen, and a Fire Creation Crystal. The portal included is identical to that of the Swap Force portal (some regions instead have a modified SuperChargers Portal without a trap slot).

There is also once again a Dark Edition of the Starter Pack, it contains three Dark variant Skylanders (King Pen, Golden Queen, and Wolfgang) and three standard Creation Crystals (Fire, Life, and Dark). The pack also comes with a Gold Imaginite Mystery Chest that unlocks some gear for your Imaginators.

And there is a "Crash Edition" that is only available on PlayStation 3 and 4, it has the same contents as the regular Starter Pack plus the Crash Bandicoot and Dr. Neo Cortex toys. The characters will be available in a separately sold Adventure Pack at a later date.

Platforms

The game is only appearing on PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and the Wii U. That means no Wii, 3DS, or Tablet versions this year.

Are you able to download the game, use an old portal and buy skylanders seperately? I think we could in other games but i never tried it.

Well, I think that they could've changed Chompy mage's class to maek him more interesting. As, in giving him fresh new abilities and not the same old tired ones.

(after all, he WAS in 3 games) Also consider that Crash and Neo Cortex are "extras", so they shouldn't be included in the tally of how many cases correspond for each thing.

No hard feelings, just saying

If only they weren't using the name Buckshot this year...

I still think Grave Clobber shouldn't be a brawler, like how they couldn't make Chompy Mage a brawler or a knight.

Lets think for a moment, who would've guess a character holding a staff and puppet would be a Bazooker? Now they couldn't make him a knight because of Ambush and they couldn't make him a brawler because of Crash

@Kat-Kun, I can see where you're coming from. True, no one said there couldn't be two of the same in one class, but it looks like they're playing it that way, otherwise Chompy Mage would've been in a class that actually suits him.

I'm not saying Grave Clobber won't be a brawler, I'm just saying it would be weird to make the acception for the one character in the one Element

An interesting theory. I suppose we will have to wait to discover if it is correct.

Hello Everyone! I've been following this chat for some time and finally decided to join. That's all. Wouldn't it be great to have sheep creep as a quick-shot.

Hey, can you not spoil the chapter titles like that?

Why the heck does everyone believe that there can't be two of the same class in one element?! Nobody ever said that there couldn't!

Here is a theory I have: Since the Sorcerer Imaginators' Soul Gem is in the Cradle of Creation (which is the game's first level), all the other levels (except for the Adventure Packs) would have at least one Sensei's Soul Gem from that corresponding Imaginator's Battle Class, which might indicate which Doomlander we're going to fight (which is the Sorcerer Doomlander, by the way in the Cradle of Creation). We already know how to get Neo Cortex's Soul Gem; by breaking all 50 crates in Chili Pepper Run. Thumpin' Wumpa Islands might also have Crash's, the Gryphon Park Observatory having Air Strike's, and Boom Bloom's Adventure Pack having hers.

However, the Mushroom River may contradict my theory, since on the Collectables Screen, it says there is a total of three Soul Gems: Brawler Imaginator, King Pen, and possibly Mysticat.

In a poster video by Alpha Ambush (who did a video with Luminous35 a while back), from the way Blaster-Tron is positioned, It looks like he's holding up a sword, so he's most likely going to be a Knight. Also, I think Grave Clobber is going to be a Knight as well because King Pen is already the Water Brawler Sensei.

Wow, you're really wanting to get banned with this advertising of random videos. Suit yourself.

Tank Top, your Sparx just represents how long you've been in the forum. It changes with gems which are gained by posting.

edit: post with advertising has been removed

No advertising your videos that have nothing to do with Skylanders, please and thank you.

@SporeVideos3 - That is definately his best line; his other ones are too self aware and Kaos already took that spot in the catchphrase department.

And jack543, random =/= funny. Maybe set up for the joke first because that made no sense.
