Story

The story of Skylanders Imaginators takes place long ago when the Ancients used a mysterious power known as "Mind Magic" to create everything in Skylands. With it, they conjured into existence anything that they could imagine! However, they soon learned that in the wrong hands, it could be very dangerous, and so they sealed it away so that it could never be misused. After discovering this ancient secret, Kaos has unleashed the power of "Mind Magic" into Skylands once again - and he is using it to create an unstoppable army of Doomlanders, the likes of which have never been seen! Now it's up to Portal Masters to create Skylanders Imaginators from their own imagination and stop Kaos and his evil Doomlanders before it is too late. And to help train them, Eon is sending the greatest mystic warriors of all time - the Senseis!

Characters

For new playable characters there are 20 brand new Skylander Senseis as well as 11 former villains. Along with their element each Sensei will also have a Battle Class from a list of ten: Smasher, Knight, Ninja, Bazooker, Quickshot, Sorcerer, Brawler, Sentinel, Swashbuckler, and Bowslinger.

The first set of characters to be revealed included King Pen, Golden Queen, and Tri-Tip. Here is a table containing all of the new Skylanders, click the + to see all the known variants:

Senseis

"Sensei" is the collective name for the new set of Skylanders (the villains also function as Senseis), their Battle Class determines the types of attacks and weapons they use as well as which abilities they unlock for your Imaginators. They all have a new type of super attack called Sky-Chi that slowly fills up as you defeat enemies until it reaches a point where you can unleash it on your unsuspecting foes (quite similar to the ability Trap Masters had in the 3DS version of Trap Team).

Owning a Sensei of a particular battle class will unlock a Secret Technique for your Imaginators of the same class. As well as that they will each unlock an item and a weapon for use in customisation. Senseis will also be able to access areas known as "Sensei Elemental Realms".

Creation Crystal

Included in the Starter Pack is a Fire Creation Crystal, this allows you to create and store your very own custom Fire element Skylander. To create a Skylander of a different element you'll need to purchase a Creation Crystal of that element.

Be aware that once you select a Battle Class you can not change it on that Creation Crystal ever again. So choose carefully!

Starter Pack

In the Starter Pack you get the Water Sensei Master King Pen, the Earth Villain Golden Queen, and a Fire Creation Crystal. The portal included is identical to that of the Swap Force portal (some regions instead have a modified SuperChargers Portal without a trap slot).

There is also once again a Dark Edition of the Starter Pack, it contains three Dark variant Skylanders (King Pen, Golden Queen, and Wolfgang) and three standard Creation Crystals (Fire, Life, and Dark). The pack also comes with a Gold Imaginite Mystery Chest that unlocks some gear for your Imaginators.

And there is a "Crash Edition" that is only available on PlayStation 3 and 4, it has the same contents as the regular Starter Pack plus the Crash Bandicoot and Dr. Neo Cortex toys. The characters will be available in a separately sold Adventure Pack at a later date.

Platforms

The game is only appearing on PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and the Wii U. That means no Wii, 3DS, or Tablet versions this year.

Did no one besides Ash even bother t look at the spoiler? smilie

Luminous, as much as I want all of the Doom Raiders to appear in game, it's safe not to say that everyone has been confirmed. Right now, we have two different sources that say a statement but conflict each other.

ARIGHT ARIGHT. Let's stop the arguing there. I suggest we all wait until the actual event, then everyone can share their opinions on the new information.

@Luminous35 It was not confirmed at all. I asked before and I'll ask again; Give me proof. Show me exactly where it was confirmed. I GENUINELY want to know what in the hell is making you believe some piece of speculation is confirmed.

VV Lol I'm with ya, pal. I heard from somewhere that Activision wasn't going to be at E3 this year, but I guess I'm wrong.

And @Deja Vu I am not new here. I recently made a different account. I've been here before Swap Force was announced.

It was confirmed! How can you people NOT trust others who went to the secret event? You have no sense right now.

The 257th King of Chompies speaks the truth. But I can see what they're coming from. Gonna elaborate on what one user said earlier.

On one hand, you've got folks who came from TTD, a reliable source who actually went to the event (I think) and said that all Doom Raiders are 100% confirmed.

One the other hand, you've got folks who came from Yroc, an equally reliable source who also went to the event, but says that not all Doom Raiders are confirmed and that it is a mix of Villains.

We've got two sides, each feeding off of a reliable source's fact, but both of the facts contradict each other. Unless when Yroc said "mix", he meant Pain-Yatta, another villain, and all of the Doom Raiders.

I've got a solution to this problem:
We should all shut the freak up with this nonsense and wait until more freaking news is revealed at E3.

WHO'S WITH ME?!?!

It's bothering me that people are saying that all these characters are "confirmed." It's just speculation. Stop saying that it's fact before we actually see stuff from the company or leakers. You can speculate, but please stop going around and saying that all this is confirmed and going to happen. It's throwing off new users and making hard to sort through guesses and actual facts.

@SkylandrPurists That was never confirmed nor denied. Stop saying it like it's fact.

VV You're obviously new here. Skylanders will be at E3 and it will have a showcase of the game that lasts 2 hours and it would be nonsense to do that without new characters.

@OfficialAsh, sorry to disappoint you, but they did say Doom Raiders, so it is smilie.

VV Activision doesn't have a booth at E3 this year, so no one knows what to expect. There are rumors that Nintendo will be showing off Imaginators there, but otherwise, there isn't much to expect.

What if the odd number 31 senseis is because there is 20 new senseis, 10 villain senseis and a Skymiibo sensei on Nintendo consoles?

On the other hand there reads "11 former villains", so maybe no...

#348 Deja Vu 19:13:39 08/06/2016
V That's the only reason why I wanna see them at E3 anyway smilie
You can bet they will.
