Story

The story of Skylanders Imaginators takes place long ago when the Ancients used a mysterious power known as "Mind Magic" to create everything in Skylands. With it, they conjured into existence anything that they could imagine! However, they soon learned that in the wrong hands, it could be very dangerous, and so they sealed it away so that it could never be misused. After discovering this ancient secret, Kaos has unleashed the power of "Mind Magic" into Skylands once again - and he is using it to create an unstoppable army of Doomlanders, the likes of which have never been seen! Now it's up to Portal Masters to create Skylanders Imaginators from their own imagination and stop Kaos and his evil Doomlanders before it is too late. And to help train them, Eon is sending the greatest mystic warriors of all time - the Senseis!

Characters

For new playable characters there are 20 brand new Skylander Senseis as well as 11 former villains. Along with their element each Sensei will also have a Battle Class from a list of ten: Smasher, Knight, Ninja, Bazooker, Quickshot, Sorcerer, Brawler, Sentinel, Swashbuckler, and Bowslinger.

The first set of characters to be revealed included King Pen, Golden Queen, and Tri-Tip. Here is a table containing all of the new Skylanders, click the + to see all the known variants:

Senseis

"Sensei" is the collective name for the new set of Skylanders (the villains also function as Senseis), their Battle Class determines the types of attacks and weapons they use as well as which abilities they unlock for your Imaginators. They all have a new type of super attack called Sky-Chi that slowly fills up as you defeat enemies until it reaches a point where you can unleash it on your unsuspecting foes (quite similar to the ability Trap Masters had in the 3DS version of Trap Team).

Owning a Sensei of a particular battle class will unlock a Secret Technique for your Imaginators of the same class. As well as that they will each unlock an item and a weapon for use in customisation. Senseis will also be able to access areas known as "Sensei Elemental Realms".

Creation Crystal

Included in the Starter Pack is a Fire Creation Crystal, this allows you to create and store your very own custom Fire element Skylander. To create a Skylander of a different element you'll need to purchase a Creation Crystal of that element.

Be aware that once you select a Battle Class you can not change it on that Creation Crystal ever again. So choose carefully!

Starter Pack

In the Starter Pack you get the Water Sensei Master King Pen, the Earth Villain Golden Queen, and a Fire Creation Crystal. The portal included is identical to that of the Swap Force portal (some regions instead have a modified SuperChargers Portal without a trap slot).

There is also once again a Dark Edition of the Starter Pack, it contains three Dark variant Skylanders (King Pen, Golden Queen, and Wolfgang) and three standard Creation Crystals (Fire, Life, and Dark). The pack also comes with a Gold Imaginite Mystery Chest that unlocks some gear for your Imaginators.

And there is a "Crash Edition" that is only available on PlayStation 3 and 4, it has the same contents as the regular Starter Pack plus the Crash Bandicoot and Dr. Neo Cortex toys. The characters will be available in a separately sold Adventure Pack at a later date.

Platforms

The game is only appearing on PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and the Wii U. That means no Wii, 3DS, or Tablet versions this year.

Everyone is getting all excited over something that may never happen.

Just because it mentioned the name Crash doesn't automatically mean it's Crash Bandicoot.

Hold on a second how did I miss the info about a Crash edition exclusive to the ps4. Well that pretty much confirms Bandicoot.

If that trend follows who knows maybe we'll get a Banjo next year.

So traps nor vehicles will be used in this game?

It is, but what we are seeing with Wolfgangs trim is way too blue.

I think the Undead base is blackish blue, base.

Whoa dude don't be so defensive geez. See I can do that too.

Quote-"a dark blue was used for the undead trap (which it is when compared to the real translucent black used for the dark trap)"

First off that makes no sense what so ever, and B. none of the undead traps I have are blue they are all translucent black, so you have still yet to explain what your talking about.

There are minor tweaks to the paint in cases but that has to do with the presentation of the figure. They're not going to show a half assed figure come launch... In fact every figure I own has some sort of defect, something you NEVER see with a presentation piece.

Never mind I looked it up on ebay and noticed that there are two translucent mixes used in the traps which was all you had to say in the first place lol.

Anyways it's still pretty dumb considering a majority of the undead pieces where of a dark color with a hint of blue where as that looks straight up blue now, in fact so blue that I had to compare it to the water element.

So now we end up with blue for water, blue for undead and possibly a blue for air.... Dumb if you ask me.

Woah, calm down. I never said the other bases did. All I said was that a dark blue was used for the undead trap (which it is when compared to the real translucent black used for the dark trap) .

so it's not ridiculous to think that dark blue could represent undead sometimes.

Also what I meant about the colour not looKing like it will on a real figure was more in reference to that a lot of these early figure pics are tweaked before mass production with minor colour and texture changes having occurred before between first leaks and release.

I have over 200 pieces in my collection and none of the undead figures I own have that color trim or bases sorry. The traps are made out of a translucent black so I'm not sure what your talking about. I will agree that it looks more like the Legendary blue but we are talking about the undead element remember. The rest of wolf gang looks accurate so it's definitely not the picture.

Undeads colour is sometimes dark blue ( like the undead traps) since the dark element was made, so that black is left available for the dark element.

Also this shade of blue does look a little light in this pic, but it might be a bit darker in the real figures when they're released.

The problem with that Ash is that this series is popular because of one reason and one reason only...the figures. As soon as that's taken out of the equation whatever game they decide to make will suffer dramatically.

With that said, am I the only one who is questioning Wolf Gang's base trim? Why is it blue? I understand the top of the base is black but they could have done a charcoal or a glow in the dark trim for it.

Last but not least let's get down to the Doom Raider's. Who here rather see Threatpack as a fig rather than the Gulper? Gulper was lame, the only thing cool about him was the fact that he was a cool gimmick in the first level.

WOAH.
Okay this is gonna be a long post. Sorry in advance.

So some people are starting to get the idea that this is the last skylanders game. Lets think about this. If Activion really was planning 10-20 skylanders games, they probably wouldn't make the same 'game' per say over and over again like they are doing now. Ya know, buy the toys, put em on the portal, add something slightly different each year so a bunch o fools (all of us) will give them major monies. Obviously, the idea would get old after a few of the scheduled 10-20 games. Not saying that that has happened yet. Things would get really old and no one would buy their stuff anymore right? But wait. What if activision isn't planning 10-20 skylanders games? What if their just planning 10-20 games based on skylanders?

Aha. Here's what I'm trying to say. Skylanders is great and it has been for six years now. But what if "skylanders" (notice the quotation marks) is really over after this? There are a lot of people right now that would tell you that this is the end of the series. They could be right. They could be wrong. Same goes for me. Here's the cheese: sure skylanders could be over, but what about this. Activision could be planning a bounce off series of Skylanders. Woah, but Ash, they said 10-20 skylanders games! Heres what im thinking: this new series or whatever could still be called skylanders. I dont know how to explain, so ill give an example of what a game in this "series" could look like:

Let's clear our minds of the Skylanders concept for a second, which is toys to life. Take this out of the equation. No more toys. Now whats a fan favorite skylander? Lets say Stealth Elf. What if there was a whole game completely based on Stealth Elf and her story? Sort of like a Legend of Zelda type game (for comparison). Throughout the whole game you are controlling Stealth Elf the Skylander. I think that even though it eould b a bounce off, the idea could be pretty cool. Okay, so like throughout the game, lets say you could come across other skylanders (bringing back the fan favorites but also introducing new skylanders) as like NPC's or even comrades to have with you while you are on your quest. As you play, you could come across ya know, kaos, hugo cali and flynn, and maybe even portal masters.
And then the next game could be based on Trigger Happy, or Wash Buckler, or even, like, Dr. Krankcase. Anyone, really.

I thought this was a cool, realistic idea. These games could be Skylanders RPGs.
Just a thought.

If you read all of this, you're pretty great

Again sorry for the long post and sorry for being totally off topic for thus page, but this is a thought i had that i wanted to share. So yeah.

And thats my cause. Thank you and vote for me.
