After a long wait the remake of the original trilogy that we all knew was coming has been revealed as the Spyro Reignited Trilogy. Thanks to Amazon Mexico we now know that the game is coming to the PlayStation 4 on September 21st and will indeed be a remaster of Spyro the Dragon, Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage!, and Spyro: Year of the Dragon.

Keep in mind that the Crash Bandicoot N-Sane Trilogy had a placeholder boxart when it was announced so this is likely not the finalised boxart.
Amazon India also has an Xbox One version listed with the same release date along with a bunch of screenshots from the first game in the trilogy, including this direct comparison:

Talk about "at last", especially considering 2+ months of teases and leaks.
The remastered screenshot looks like it's straight out of A Hero's Tail.

Anyone else having the cover rub them the wrong way a little? Maybe it's still a prototype or something.

I think the Spyro artwork in that picture looks really dynamic. But the background could use some work, since it's basically just...a wall.
Yeah, you can see the full picture is even worse. Some sheep, butterflies, even Sparx leaving some extra effects would make it a tiny bit more alice. It's just too empty.
Yays! Can't wait to buy this.

I was waiting to get into the convention center for PAX when I saw the leaks on Twitter. It seemed like it was coming, but now I can't believe it's actually here. September's gonna be fun! ^.^

I'm not very surprised. Spyro and Crash have always been somewhat connected. Heck, they even have a crossover. If Crash Bandicoot was remastered, it was only a matter of time before the original Spyro the Dragon was announced as well
