It seems the forum is getting a bit bloated, to combat this I am having to make some policy changes to the way older posts are handled. From now on, in the off topic section, older topics will be deleted instead of locked and all topics forum wide will be limited to 2500 posts. Apologies if this has suddenly closed your topic.
I will also be bringing in a storage cap to the private message system and a cap on the number of guestbook posts that can be kept, but that will take a little longer to implement.

Uh oh.....Well,it does make sense.....
that explains it... but it's also really annoying they way it goes from being open to closed, especially in RP's.
Yeah, that means alot of continuences, sequals, trilogy, sagas, and the whole nine yards. 
While I get the point as to why you are doing this, I agree with pony_girl above me. With this, more topics will be made once the limit of the old one is exceeded. I'm afraid to see how many "Currently Listening To" topics will be made by the time we hit 2013. I'mma guess about 15.
Thank you, that also means, more 'Rate the person's avatar(or signature) above you', 'get to the top of that page', and more. The same with the 'All purpose Pokemon', 'Kingdom Hearts/Final Fantasy', also people are gonna be freaking out because they really don't pay attention to this area sometimes.

Dark52, Admin of darksSpyro just hit CharacterDB with a low blow by deleting all RP's before December 2010. This includes data needed which wasn't backed up, so please try to remember as best you can since we have nothing much to go on now...

Fan fics are not being deleted, only dead topics in the Off Topic sections (Idle Chatter, Video Gaming, Stuff and Nonsense, Role Play, and Forum Games) will get deleted.
This is due to the strain on the server that the database is causing, it's just gotten too big; combined there are over 3 million posts and private messages - that's quite a lot to keep indefinitely on a shared host. Yes, I would rather have kept them, but the resources they take up doing nothing is just not worth it.

But a warning would have been nice before hand... Seriously I'm really miffed over that. It's the whole point I made my site but now finishing it is going to be nearimpossible
I can restore individual RPs at request but they will eventually be deleted again.

Well, it is a good idea in some places, but not very for RPs, "make it up" fanfiction and very long fanfiction

I strongly dislike the new limits and deleted topics. Heck, I'd even be happy to donate $10 or something just to get the old system back. But alas, it will never happen.

Could regularly pruning your inbox and GB help with the database as well?
It would help, yes, the PM system is apparently a large resource hog at the moment. I'll be adding a quicker way to mass delete soon.

It would of been nice if you changed the limit to 5000 instead of 2500... for RPs, 2500 just isn't enough... Well, imo, neither is 5000, but it saves one extra topic being made for the same RP...

I've now reached 1500 posts and it's making me extremely anxious to know what the limit for that will be.
I agree with GamingMaster_76 and Malefor0001. The new post limit would cause some problems with RPs and very long fanfics and should probably be extended a bit more.

NOOOOOO! I can't see my posts from 2007? I joined January '07 and it's cool to look at old chats here. Yet I'm still a green sparx 
This will be troublesome for rps and i can see people become furstrated easily but who knows. It may be for the better. 
So do we have any idea of when this guestbook and PM tightening stuff is going to be implemented yet and the limits? I've got a few posts I'd like to keep from both, and would like to know when to do this before.
I'll give plenty of warning for that part, the first stage was a more immediate issue that couldn't wait.

) but I've finally turned on the auto-delete and will from April 1st be making a 500 post guestbook limit and a 500 PM inbox limit. I'll make a proper news post on the 1st of March about the finalised details but if you want to ask any questions or provide feedback I am open to suggestions about this.
