The folks over at Fusible.com have spotted several newly registered Skylanders domain names. Just registered on Wednesday one of these could possibly be the name of the third game:
Skylanders Kaos Alliance
Skylanders Nano Force
Skylanders Super Force
Skylanders Swap Force
Whatever the name turns out to be we won't have to wait too long to find out as it should hopefully be officially announced during either the Toys R Us New York event mentioned in the news post below (Feb 5) or during Toy Fair 2013 itself (Feb 10-13). But of course that still leaves plenty of time for speculation...

...There seems to be a common theme of having 'force' in the name.
"May the force be with you, young Portal Master."

Super Force sounds more like a book to me. However, after thinking big in the sequel, I feel like they'd try to go the opposite direction for number 3, so Nano Force makes the most sense... <.<;
KAOS ALLIANCE FTW!
I have a feeling the 'force' related titles could be linked to a mobile game - maybe they're all working titles for a new iOS game? 'Kaos Alliance' stands out too much to be ignored - especially when you consider the Kaos figurines that they have in the display cabinets at TFB. I guess we'll have to wait and see.
Actually, bio, TFB mentioned that Kaos figurines were made just for fun.

Well, we can only wait and see. If Kaos does get a figure... o.o

Ooo, that's awesome! Who knows what we could see! I'm guessing Kaos Alliance is probably the game, while The "Force" games are probably mobile games.
I agree, Kaos Alliance seems to be the 3rd skylanders game, while the 3 force games are the trio of iOS games. This makes the most sense.
EDIT: I have awesome idea! Skylanders 3 is supposed to be about Boomer. Maybe Boomer leaves skylanders and joins kaos, or this is boomers back story before he joined skylanders.

i just recently purchased skylanders giants about a month ago, its kind of wierd thinking about the third game already.
If they make Kaos Alliance, Drill-X should return!
I'm hoping for Kaos alliance. Maybe he teams up with Malefor and other bad guys from the original spyro? I don't know! But that would be epic. It would be fun to be a bad guy for once. Like to 'shake it up' or something. I need to hurry and buy skylanders giants then! Fingers crossed!

Am I the only one that likes 'Skylanders: Nano Force' best? :S I think it sounds really cool, sounds space-y.

If they do Nano Force then they could basically have tiny skylanders to gt into small areas and stuff. They might even let us use the sidekicks as characters! (Terrabite and Barkley power duo anyone?

All of these names sound pretty bad to me.
Sounds cool!
Nano force sounds like the same as Giants excepts it's small characters instead of big ones, and you can enter little rabbit holes and sneak up on enemies instead of pull slands around and take out whole groups.
Kaos Alliance sounds cool, like the Skylanders join him to defeat an even worse threat, like Kaos' mom, perhaps??

Maybe... Kaos Allies with the skylanders against the chompies that had a danceparty on the end of nightmare mode, and the game is called nano force, since Chompies are small! =3
Kaos Alliance FTW! This would be so awesome and would fit the storyline (end of Giants). Also the figure prototypes of Kaos are great, I for one would love to see a starter pack with Kaos, Glumshanks and an elemental Spell Punk.
