The Legend of Spyro: A New Beginning

Released in October 2006, The Legend of Spyro: A New Beginning, is said to be the first of a new reset storyline and was developed by Krome Studios (PS2, XBOX, GCN, GBA) and Amaze Entertainment (DS).

Features

Action/combat orientated
New breath abilities, fury attacks, melee and aerial combo attacks
Upgradeable breath abilities
The new storyline explores Spyro's origins, all the way back to when he hatched and was raised by a family of dragonflies
Fire, Earth, Electric and Ice breaths.
The villain is a female black dragon called Cynder.
Krome Studios are taking care of the Xbox, PS2, Gamecube and GBA versions whilst Amaze Entertainment are making the DS version again.
Five bosses to fight during the game
Spyro returns to the skies
Elijah Wood as the voice of Spyro
David Spade as the voice of Sparx
Gary Oldman as the voice of Ignitus: a red dragon, the Fire Dragon Elder and Spyro's mentor.
Named enemies. A lot of creatures that Spyro attacks will have their own individual name (randomly assigned except for significant enemies such as bosses or some small creatures). You can read a complete list of all of the bits of the names, and view a Random Enemy Name Generator.

i know lots of fans dont like the legend series but most peeps prefer the legend series because there is a real story base i am not saying the others dont but if you play classic spyro without playing the first game its hard to understand who all the bad guys are. and in skylanders in the beginning of spyros adventure hugo says spyro you've returned!? so how are you meant to know the story base!? i'm just saying if your gunna complain legend series is stupid or not good then you shouldn't be here just go to your fav topic!

When you put other two from TLoS, this one is actually best, wich prooves how second one was terrible. Its same engine so i dont get it. If its not broken dont try to fix it. Third one was ok but just a little weird

Couldnt agree more with SuperSpyroFan. I would prefer Skylanders over TLoS every day. Krome Studios dissapointed me with this trilogy and i was expecting better from people who made Ty the Tasmanian Tiger Trilogy. Ty wasnt dark at all. Why did they had to make this Spyro so dark. Whats wrong with A Hero's Tail styled Spyro game? I mean that game was the closest thing to Insomniac Spyro. And that one was best

I don't understand why these people bothered to re-boot the series in the first place, fans just wanted too much of the Insomniac feel to A Hero's Tail and I thought it was perfectly fine as it is. I just think it was really under-rated, and I don't see how this is an improvement really. This first one is alright, but it could have easily been better, then it just gets terribly worse with TEN, and the way DOTD starts off is fine and gets interesting into the Valley of Avalar, and after that it gets to become like TEN all over again.
